Sir Edmund Hillary (1919–2008) became the first person to scale Mount Everest in 1953. Junko Tabei (b. 1939) became the first woman to do so in 1975. Three items: ballpoint signatures, “Ed Hillary” and “Junko Tabei,” on one off-white 5 x 3 card; and two color glossy photos of Mount Everest, 8 x 10 and 10 x 8, each signed in black felt tip in English and Japanese by Tabei.
