American evangelist and publisher (1837–1899) who founded the Moody Church, Northfield School, and Mount Hermon School in Massachusetts. Uncommon ALS signed “D. L. Moody,” three pages on two adjoining sheets, 5 x 8, September 23. Letter to Reverend Francis Clark. In part: “I am glad you could have the Endeavor meeting at Northfield & I hope you…will come every year. I do hope we can get you on as one of our Trustees…it is time you should look after our colleges.” In very good condition, with central horizontal and vertical fold, mild toning, show-through from writing on reverse, and several small ink spots to signature.
