Prominent and sometimes controversial American clergyman, orator, and abolitionist (1813–1887) who was the brother of Uncle Tom’s Cabin author Harriet Beecher Stowe. Ink signature, “Henry Ward Beecher, Brooklyn, N. Y., Dec. 11, 1877,” on an off-white 6.5 x 4 sheet.
