Soldier, lawyer, and politician(1825–1895) from Paris, Texas, who served as Major General for the Confederacy in the Civil War and later represented Texas in the US Senate. Hand-addressed and free franked address panel, 5.5 x 3, addressed by Maxey to “Mr. Roscoe G. Smith, Cornish, York Co. Maine” and franked in the upper right corner “S. B.
