Spindel was personally selected by Lennon and Ono to photograph the final recording sessions of Double Fantasy in November 1980, Spindel’s images are featured in Ken Sharp’s book, Starting Over: The Making of John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s Double Fantasy. Speaking of the experience he said, ‘When you view my photographs of John Lennon it feels like you’re standing in the room with him. They’re very intimate.’ The series of photographs are among the last taken of Lennon before his murder on December 8. RRAuction COA.
