French writer (1824–1895), the illegitimate son of famed novelist Alexandre Dumas. The younger Dumas novel La Dame aux Camelias became the basis of Verdi’s opera ‘La Traviata.’ Four one-page untranslated ALSs in French, each signed “A. Dumas,” ranging in size from 4.5 x 5 to 5.25 x 8.25, no date. A transmittal envelope is affixed along the side of one letter. In overall very good condition, with intersecting horizontal and vertical folds touching his name on three examples, a few creases and wrinkles, a couple of small holes, and scattered toning.
