British physicist and chemist (1791–1867) best known for his development of the first dynamo and the discovery of electromagnetic induction. ALS signed “M. Faraday,” one page, 4.25 x 5, February 8, 1856. Letter to a doctor. In part: “Dr.…wishes me to say what I hope you already have fully understood that you may make any use you please of my letter.” Double matted with an engraved portrait to an overall size of 14 x 9.5. In fine condition, with a bit of scattered light soiling. Faraday is scarce in any form. RRAuction COA.
