Hearst," one page, 8.25 x 10.5, New York American letterhead, April 25, 1904. Hearst responds to John A. Stevens of Osceola, Texas. In full: "A friend in Texas sends me a newspaper clipping containing a call for the meeting of the Democratic Executive Committee of Hill County. The gentleman I refer to is Mr. H. P. Jones, of Hillsboro, Texas. I write to express to you my appreciation of the stand you have taken announcing this call and for the outspoken support you have given me. You may be sure that I appreciate your friendly action." In very good condition with heavy intersecting horizontal and vertical folds, a few spots of soiling, heavy creases, light mirroring of letterhead, and a tiny tear at the extreme right edge.
