King of Great Britain and Ireland (1683–1760) from 1727 to his death. He was the last British monarch to be born outside Great Britain. Partly-printed DS, signed "George R," one page, 13 x 9.25, June 3, 1752. King George promotes a man to the rank of lieutenant in an Irish Foot Regiment. Signed in the top left above the seal by George. Framed to an overall size of 15.5 x 12. In good condition, with some of the writing faded, and quite difficult to read, intersecting folds, George's signature light, but legible, and scattered toning and soiling.
