Description

The frustrated Sad Sack creator wrestles with the studios over a proposed TV show: “The T.V. deal is off!…I'll just about have to sue them!”

ALS signed “B. B.,” one page, 8.5 x 11, bearing a full-page original felt tip image of Sad Sack, no date. Letter to his longtime companion Suzanne LaFrance regarding bringing Sad Sack to television. In part: “The T.V. deal is off! Sam Goldwyn, Jr., still wants to do it but Paramount insists it has the T.V. rights and to clarify this point legally I’ll just about have to sue them! I can’t see myself backing Paramount in the courts so unless William Morris stands the price of the suit I’ll have to forget about T.V. unless Paramount decides to do it themselves. It still hasn’t resolved itself but that’s about the way things stack up.” In fine condition, with three punch holes to left edge, and a couple minor corner creases. RRAuction COA.
