Noted sports cartoonist. Twelve original hand-drawn cartoon artwork by Uhlman in the 1930s, averaging approximately 14 x 18, depicting various baseball heroes and Hall of Famers. Subjects include Lou Gehrig, Mel Ott, Jacob Ruppert, Tom Yawkey, Heinie Manush, Bill Terry, Carl Hubbell, Chuck Dressen, the New York Yankees, and the Polo Grounds, Each is signed at the bottom in either ink or pencil, “Gus Uhlman.” In overall very good condition, with expected creasing, soiling, staining, and small tears from newsroom use.
