Queen-consort of Great Britain, the wife of George V. In 1891 she accepted a marriage proposal from the Duke of Clarence, who within six weeks died from pneumonia. She then married his brother, the Duke of York, in 1893. Christmas card from 1924-25, 4.5 x 3.25, bearing a pre-printed sentiment inside, and signed under the sentiment, “Mary R,” as well as inscribed at the top by Mary, “For dear Lady Esther.” Small tear to bottom edge of inside pages, and some mild toning to cover, otherwise fine condition.
