TLS signed “Yours sincerely, Mountbatten of Burma,” one page, 7.5 x 9.5, Ministry of Defence letterhead, July 20, 1959. Mountbatten writes Arthur Allighan, publicity director at Walt Disney Production’s United Kingdom studio, writing “Dear Mr. Allighan” at the head of the correspondence. In full: “Thank you for your letter of the 14th July, and your kind invitation to the European Premiere of ‘Sleeping Beauty’ on 29th July. Unfortunately a previous engagement will prevent both my wife and I attending, but we very much hope to see this film at some future date.” Intersecting folds, scattered wrinkling, and soiling, otherwise fine condition.
