In part: “Your letter…addressed to my old residence in Washington, reached me yesterday. It is now more than three years since I retired from active service…I do not suppose I can have much influence there. But I have written to your Representative…a letter which I hope may be of some assistance.” In fine condition, with intersecting folds, one through a single letter of signature, and a uniform shade of light toning.
