Pioneering archaeologist (1822–1890) best known for his excavations at the ancient sites of Troy and Mycenae. ALS in German, signed “H. Schliemann,” one page, 5.5 x 8.75, March 31, 1882. Schliemann writes to historian Eduard Meyer. In part (translated): “I want to thank you again for your very interesting ‘Ostia.’ I am going to send you my publications as soon as they appear.” Intersecting folds, mild toning, and a few scattered wrinkles, otherwise fine condition.
