Partly-printed DS, signed “R. B. Hayes,” one page, 13.75 x 18, December 5, 1871. Hayes, as governor of Ohio, appoints Ralph P. Buckland a “Delegate to the Commercial Convention at Detroit.” Signed at the bottom by Hayes and countersigned by his secretary of state. Intersecting folds, a mild shade of toning, and some light mirroring from vignette and heading, otherwise fine condition. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
