A fantastic collection of 12 vintage ink self-portrait caricatures by some of the nation’s best known cartoonists. Sketches were collected as part of a testamonial presentation for the retiring Dan O’Brien, and were put together by Ed Reed of the Newspaper Comics Council. Sketches include: Milton Caniff, Al Capp, Irv Phillips, Mort Walker, Alfred Andriola, Allen Sanders, Johnny Hart, Al Smith, Hank Ketcham, Ed Reed, and Bob Lubbers, with most of the caricatures incorporating some parts of their best known comic works, with a couple adding brief inscriptions. All are matted and framed together, to an overall size of 18 x 24. In fine condition. RRAuction COA.
