German artist (1891–1969) best known for his Expressionist depictions of Weimar society and the brutality of war. ALS in German, one page, 8.5 x 11.5, personal letterhead, March 29, 1948. Letter to art collector Justin Oberzimmer, who fled Germany to South Africa. In part: “I hope that you received the leafs in good condition.
