Austrian statesman and chancellor. His attempt to prevent Hitler occupying Austria led to his imprisonment until 1945. He then lived in the U. S. A., where he became professor of political science at St. Louis University, before returning to Austria. Vintage ink signature and inscription, “To Mr. Henry Gusman, Toronto, with best regards: Kurt Schuschnigg, Kirkwood, Mo. Feb 54,” on his off-white 5.5 x 3.5 personal postcard.
