Fernand Leger

French artist (1881–1955) best known for his brightly colored, cubist- and machine-age-influenced abstractions. ALS in German, signed “F. Leger,” one page, 6.25 x 9.5, no date. Letter to Camilla Birte in Berlin. In part (loosely translated): “You are always the better Viennese I know. I present the, best Parisienne Miss Darcy who I am sure you will like.” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Leger’s hand. In very good condition, with intersecting mailing folds, a mild shade of toning, with a couple heavier strips, rough top edge, and light surface impressions along right edge. RRAuction COA.
