She was strangled by a scarf caught in a car wheel in 1927. Vintage 4.25 x 6.5 E. Bieber cabinet photo, and so stamped on reverse, of the demure Duncan looking pensive as she sits in a chair, signed in fountain pen, “Kindest remembrances, Isadora Duncan, Bade, Sept. 13, 1909.” This same month Duncan discovered that she was pregnant with what would be a son from her relationship with a Singer Sewing heir.
