Signed book: Tappan’s Burro. First edition, first printing. NY: Harper and Brothers, 1923. Hardcover, 7.25 x 9.5, 253 pages. Adventure novelist Zane Grey (1872-1939) signed and inscribed to his brother and his wife, “To Ellsworth and Ethel, with best wishes from Zane Grey, Altadena, Calif.—Christmas, 1923.” The purple fountain pen writing is affected by a moderate block of toning, but this imperfection does not obscure any of its legibility. A bit of minor page toning, and some light fading and wear to the spine are present, yet the piece retains fine condition. RRAuction COA.
