Chinese military officer and politician (1887–1975), one of the most durable leaders of the 20th century, who led the government of Republic of China from 1928 until his death. Magazine cover from the April 18, 1955, issue of Time, featuring the Chinese leader, boldly signed in Chinese in black ink in the lower left. Accompanied by a 1959 TLS from the Office of the President acknowledging the signature, as well as the original mailing envelope.
