AQS on an off-white 4.5 x 2.75 card. She was an author. She was a suffragette. She was a dramatist. She was a poet. Each of these qualities in the great Julia Ward Howe (1819-1910) is brought to bear in this poignant message: “Honor your calling, your country, and your sex.” The leading personage signed her thoughtful comment, “Julia Ward Howe, July 1889,” and all of her black ink penning is impressive. The card itself is in fine condition with a bit of scattered, light toning. RRAuction COA.
