In part: “The truth is I have felt that whatever is in your hands is very safe and that yr. ability & integrity are an abundant guarantee for what should be the leading object of the Government—viz, the security of the public funds. Political considerations and these only may lead to a change, if so the time of the transfer will be so arranged as not to be inconvenient to you….” Light intersecting mailing folds (vertical fold to first name) and faint show-through of ink, otherwise fine, bright condition.
