Engraved DS, signed “Robt. Morris,” 7 x 3.75, July 26, 1797. A promissory note issued to Morris in the amount of $4,497.97; Morris has endorsed on the reverse. Matted together with reproductions of the front of the document and the Declaration of Independence, as well as a portrait of Morris, to an overall size of 26 x 18.25. In good condition, with heavy ink stroke cancellations to signature (tiny ink erosion hole to “M”; signature generally visible), creases, wrinkles, and light toning and soiling.
