Partly engraved DS as President, one page on vellum, 13.5 x 11, June 18, 1853. An appointment for Albert G. Allen as Navy Agent for the Navy Yard at Washington. Countersigned by J. C. Dobbin as Secretary of the Navy. In good condition, with intersecting creases (vertical crease to first name), toning, light scattered staining, a few small holes, and slightly irregular ink adhesion.
