Since removed from its larger medium—a 1924 World Series program—this 5 x 1.5 slip is home to one of the most desirable autographs in all of baseball: that of Hall of Famer Walter Johnson (1887-1946). The “Big Train” employed black ink to write this brilliant specimen, which serves as a bold and vivid “Walter Johnson” autograph. Indeed, the Cooperstown inductee’s elusive penmanship retains every bit of its magnificent flair! The slip is accompanied by a photocopy of a letter of authenticity from PSA, which was issued for the entire signed page that originally bore Johnson’s signature. This item exhibits mild toning and a small tear along its bottom edge, neither of which affect the potent script; fine condition. JSA/Mike Gutierrez Auction LOA and RRAuction COA.
