African-American expatriate singer and dancer (1906–1975), nicknamed the Black Venus, who became one of the greatest sensations of Jazz-Age Paris. Vintage glossy 7 x 9.5 photo, signed in ink “Josephine Baker,” inscribed in French, and dated 1950. A few dings, small creases, and surface marks (small crease to first name), indistinct contrast to a few letters against dark background, and a few letters a shade light but legible, otherwise fine condition.
