Eldest son of Queen Victoria (born 1841) who reigned as King of England from 1901 until his death in 1910. ALS as king signed “Edward R,” one page, 5 x 8, Hotel due Palais, Biarritz letterhead, no date [1901–1910]. Edward writes to his cousin, Lily. In part: “Many thanks for your kind letter received on my arrival here. As you won’t allow me to come see you—will you pay me a little visit here at four o’clock tomorrow. I shall be delighted to see you again….” Matted and framed with a portrait engraving to an overall size of 17.75 x 14.5. The frame back bears a transcript from B. Altman & Co.
