German engineer (1838–1917) who designed the famous rigid airship that bears his name. ALS in German, signed “Gr. Zeppelin,” on a black-bordered 3.75 x 5.75 government postcard, March 26, 1906. Zeppelin writes from Bellagio to Mr. Jacobi in Metz. In part (translated): “ I would like to get three small photos … to be taken in … a chair at home….” Mild soiling (lightly touching signature) and rippling from mounting traces to address panel, otherwise fine condition.
