Pioneering African-American contralto (1897–1993) best remembered for her memorable 1939 performance on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial after the Daughters of the American Revolution refused to let her perform for a racially mixed audience at Constitution Hall. Framed to an overall size of 8.5 x 10.5. A few small creases and light bends, otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
