Description

Houdini in Germany: “How are the card trix??”

ANS signed in the body “Houdini,” on a German postcard featuring a color image of the Hohenzollernring in Cologne, March 2, 1903. Houdini writes to Det. Sergt. Rastrick in Bradford, England, penning his message in the borders of the image: “The police carry a sword over here! To cut cheese? Notice the Kings Policeman [marked with an asterisk] looking for Houdini, Hope he does not jail him. How are the card trix??” In good condition, with soiling, light staining, and creasing (touching written text), and stamp partly removed. The writing is clear, dark, and fully legible. R&R COA.
