American actor (1886–1971) best known for his character roles alongside such early comic giants as Charlie Chaplin and W. C. Fields. Vintage matte-finish 8 x 10 photo of Conklin peering over his spectacles, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To Frederick James Smith, Just for fun, Chester Conklin.” The reverse bears the library stamp of Photoplay magazine.
