In a career move that remains unique in the annals of classical music, Paderewski served for a year (1919) as Prime Minister of Poland before resuming an ultra-successful career as a concert artist. Paderewski.” The book, comprising the text of an address by Paderewski at the Polish Benefit Concert in Chicago on February 5, 1916, was evidently issued as a fundraiser.
