TLS, one page, 8 x 10.5, State of New York Executive Chamber letterhead, April 27, 1931. Roosevelt writes to Roger L. Scaife at Houghton Mifflin Company. In part: “Mr. Fairbank is an old friend of ours. I am really doing nothing in regard to any kind of campaign, though I take it that other people are starting things in my behalf! I am off for Warm Springs next Friday, I hope. Let me know what was the result of the Mexican War papers search in Washington….” Mild handling wear, otherwise fine condition.
