In part: “Mr. Fairbank is an old friend of ours. I am really doing nothing in regard to any kind of campaign, though I take it that other people are starting things in my behalf! I am off for Warm Springs next Friday, I hope. Let me know what was the result of the Mexican War papers search in Washington….” Mild handling wear, otherwise fine condition.
