Popular Italian operatic soprano (1874–1944) known as one of the great beauties of her day. Cavaliere was the subject of the 1955 biopic The World’s Most Beautiful Woman, starring Gina Lollobrigida. Vintage sepia matte-finish 8 x 10 photo, inscribed in French to Margery Maxwell and signed “Lina Cavalieri Muratore, San Francisco, 1922.” Crease to one corner (a few other minor marginal creases) and a hint of mild soiling and silvering, otherwise fine condition.
