Author (1840–1928) of such classic novels as Far from the Madding Crowd and Tess of the d’Urbervilles who takes a place among the towering figures of British literature. Ink signature, “Thomas Hardy,” on 5.5 x 4 slip clipped from the limitation page of one of his books. In very good condition, with slightly uneven toning from previous display, faint tape stains to top edge, and a few wrinkles and tiny tears. The signature itself is clear and dark. R&R COA.
