Massachusetts lawyer (1731–1814) who served as one of the prosecutors of British soldiers during the Boston Massacre trial; he later signed the Declaration of Independence. Ink signature, “R. T. Paine, Esq.,” on 6.25 x .75 slip clipped from a legal document bearing several words in Paine’s hand and the date August 1760.
