Description

Statesman and politician who variously served as aide-de-camp to Washington, member of the Continental Congress, the first Attorney General, and Aaron Burr’s lawyer during his notorious trial for treason. DS, signed “Edm: Randolph,” one page, 6 x 3.5, January 29, 1788. A land deed granting “William Reynolds…is entitled to the proportion of land allowed a Private of the State Line for Three Years Service.” Signed at the bottom by Randolph, as governor of Virginia. In fine condition, with document inlaid to a slightly larger sheet, a few spots, and a mild shade of toning. R&R COA.
