Prolific American songwriter (1895–1974) whose works, many of which were prominently featured in the films of the Marx Brothers and Eddie Cantor, include such standards as “I Wanna Be Loved by You” and “Three Little Words.” Ruby was played by Red Skelton in the 1950 biopic Three Little Words. Vintage AMQS in ink, seven measures of “Thinking of You” on a cream 8.75 x 3.5 slip of manuscript paper, signed and inscribed “To Lionel A.
