Legendary singer (1915–1959), revered as one of the greatest and most individual vocalists in the history of blues and jazz, who died from cirrhosis of the liver at the age of 44. Striking vintage 5 x 6 program photo, signed in pencil “Billie Holiday.” Matted to an overall size of 10 x 10.75. In very good condition, with top and bottom edges of photo taped to mat from reverse, faint line to perimeter from matting (just touching “B”), indistinct contrast of “ay” against dark background, and a few indistinct creases (very faint vertical crease touching last name). Very difficult to find in signed images! R&R COA.
