Description

The first American to win four track and field medals in one Olympics. The performance in Berlin in 1936 made him both an Olympic hero and a lasting symbol of black pride. Vintage glossy 10 x 8 photo of Owens racing out of the starting blocks, signed and inscribed in blue ink “To Bertha, My best to a very lovely athlete - Jesse Owens, 36 Olympics.” In very good condition, with scattered creasing, mostly to edges and corners, signature and inscription a couple shades light, but completely legible, and some light edge curling.
