Brief letter to Harry Bradley. In full, “Can you inform me who is the author of the enclosed article?” Accompanied by the original partial free-franked mailing envelope, addressed in Fillmore’s hand to “Harry Bradley Esq., Burlington, Vermont.” Envelope is postmarked “Washington D. C., Oct. 18,” with a “Free” stamp above postmark, and a partial franking signature, “M. Fillm.,” with rest of signature missing due to paper loss along top edge. Back of envelope retains most of the original official red wax seal. In fine condition, with intersecting mailing folds, one barely touching first letter of last name and a couple trivial ink spots.
