Description

As judge

TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, County Court, Jackson County, Missouri letterhead, June 24, 1933. Truman writes to Roger T. Sermon, mayor of Independence, Missouri. In full: “I have been trying to see you for a week or ten days, but on account of letting the Court House contract and seeing the various people who are seeking in jobs in connection with it I haven’t had a chance to do so. I will get in touch with you the first of next week. I have a letter from Mr. Keene this morning in which he informs me that he has made an agreement with you to pay $204.00 for the underground cable. This is entirely satisfactory to me.” Intersecting mailing folds (lightly touching signature) and a touch of mild soiling, otherwise fine condition. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
