Description

Space souvenirs: “In regard to the sale of fabric ... we have decided to do it ourselves”

TLS signed “Mike,” one page, 8.5 x 11, National Air and Space Museum letterhead, November 12, 1973. Collins writes to Dave Jameson of the EAA Air Museum Foundation. In part: “In regard to the sale of old fabric, I think it is a good idea, but we have decided to do it ourselves. In fact, we have already prepared the art work and advertising for our first such venture, selling unusable scraps from the Douglas World Cruiser ‘Chicago,’ and we hope to be on the market with them in time for the Christmas trade. The Stinson sounds good in theory, but I am afraid that project will have to wait a year or two, as I have neither the time nor the money right now….” Faint intersecting mailing folds (lightly touching signature), otherwise fine, clean condition. COA Scott Cornish and R&R COA.
