Actor (1914–1959) best remembered for his role as Superman on the popular 1950s television series. He was fatally shot under mysterious circumstances at the age of 45; whether his death was a suicide or a homicide remains one of the great unsolved mysteries of Hollywood lore. His death is the subject of the 2006 film Hollywoodland. Vintage in-person fountain pen signature, “To Ken, Best wishes, George Reeves,” on a goldenrod 5.75 x 2.25 album page. A collector’s ink notation indicates that the signature was obtained at the Beverly Hills Hotel on April 6, 1959; Reeves died on June 16. Very subtle feathering of ink, otherwise fine condition.
