Description

Engineer and business executive (1876–1942) who, along with his brothers William and Arthur and friend William Harley, founded the famed Harley-Davidson Motor Company in 1903 and served as its first president, a post he retained until his death. TLS, one page, 8.5 x 10.75, Harley-Davidson letterhead, December 3, 1924. Davidson writes to the brewers Pabst Corporation in Milwaukee. In full: “Confirming telephone conversation of this afternoon would say that we have already vacated the northeast corner of our space in the Pabst Corporation Building and expect to have the entire floor vacated by March 1, 1925, and the space all cleaned up by not later than April 1, 1925. If you should find a tenant who would want to move in before that time, we could doubtless expedite matters somewhat….” Intersecting mailing folds (vertical fold to first name), a light crease across the top, and a few small wrinkles and faint spots, otherwise fine condition. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
