Two TLSs to the mother and father of artist Winslow Williams: one page, 8.5 x 11, dated June 18, 1940, to Mr. Williams, in part, “I was very glad indeed to meet your son Winslow Williams and I think he has real ability and certainly will be a success in his work”; second letter is one page, 5.75 x 7, dated September 8, 1943, on his personal letterhead, to Williams’s mother. In part, “It especially gratifies me to know that you understood what I tried very hard to say in printing the ‘Four Freedoms.’ Both are accompanied by the original mailing envelopes. Williams went on to become an accomplished artist, much in the style of his mentor, Norman Rockwell. In fine condition, with intersecting folds to the first letter, lightly affecting signature.
