Manuscript DS boldly signed as president, one lined page, 8.5 x 12.75, March 9, 1907. A document directing that, “during the absence of the Honorable George B. Cortelyou, Secretary of the Treasury, the Honorable James B. Reynolds, Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, is hereby designated to perform the duties of the Secretary of Treasury.” Cortelyou has also initialed at lower left. In very good condition, with document affixed to mat board, toning and mild soiling, diagonal crease through last name of signature, and tiny marginal chips.
